Intended merger Consolid and 24/7 drive

Son, 14 January 2025 - Consolid, specialist in staffing for transport, logistics and mobility, and 24/7 drive, specialist in recruitment, selection and staffing within the transport & logistics sector, have announced a proposed merger. The new organisation will realise a combined turnover of 185 million euros, have 300 employees and a combined 5,500 temporary workers. With this merger, both companies are joining forces to further grow together and achieve a strong market position in the Netherlands and Europe.

‘The proposed merger is an important strategic step that enables us to further expand our services and support clients even better,’ says Marco Broeknellis on behalf of Consolid. ‘Together we are stronger and can respond more efficiently to the increasing demand for flexible and qualified personnel.’

Expanding services and internationalization
The merger between the industry peers offers customers a broader and more complete range of services. The joint organisation will focus on, among other things: Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), Temping, International recruitment, Payrolling, Secondment (DETA), Training and education, ZZP support and Platformisation of services.

Consolid is strong in serving large clients such as Qbuzz, Arriva and Axxicom, while 24/7 drive, as an employment agency in the transport & logistics sector, has a strong presence in SMEs and in national and international recruitment. 24/7 drive is based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Lithuania.

‘We complement each other perfectly,’ says Andrew Zwaarts on behalf of 24/7 drive. ‘By joining forces, we not only broaden our range of services, but also offer our clients access to a larger network of qualified temporary workers. Continuity and room for new growth opportunities
The proposed merger not only offers economies of scale but also ensures that both companies remain future-proof. Continuity is guaranteed: For the time being, both companies will continue to operate as customers, suppliers and employees are used to. Existing contacts and contracts remain unchanged.

In addition, the merger offers growth opportunities for employees, temporary workers and customers. ‘We want to continue investing in innovation, digitalisation and new markets,’ says Andrew Zwaarts on behalf of 24/7 drive. ‘This merger will allow us to better anticipate future developments and achieve sustainable growth.’

Dennis and Arian Mortier hand over Consolid to new board
With the proposed merger, Dennis and Arian Mortier are saying goodbye to Consolid. Both brothers have led Consolid with great energy over the past decades and laid a solid foundation for further growth. With the proposed merger between Consolid and 24/7 drive, they see this as a natural moment to hand over the baton and make room for the new phase Consolid is entering. They will remain involved in the coming period to ensure a smooth transition.

The new organisation will be led by a management team consisting of representatives from both Consolid and 24/7 drive. The board of the holding company will be formed by Andrew Zwaarts and Mark Ooiman, while the day-to-day management of Consolid and 24/7 drive will be in the hands of Andrew Zwaarts (CEO 24/7 drive & Consolid), Marco Broeknellis (COO Consolid), Liesbeth la Lau (CFO Consolid), Rutger van Katwijk (COO 24/7 drive NL), Michel van Bekkum (COO 24/7 drive EU), and Loek Swinkels (CFO 24/7 drive). Scheybeeck will remain involved in the new organisation as a shareholder and will continue to contribute to its further development and growth from that role.

Both employees and shareholders express their thanks and appreciation for Dennis and Arian Mortier's years of dedication and valuable contribution to Consolid's success and development. Dennis Mortier has seen Consolid grow from a few employees in the 1990s to an organisation with 180 employees. ‘I look back with pride on what we have built together and wish my colleagues every success for the coming years,’ said Dennis Mortier.

The merger is still pending approval by the competition authorities. This process is expected to be completed in the coming months.
